The last month has been a whirlwind of travel, training on snow, long hours spent in the gym, and finding time to rest, do laundry, and pack up for the next adventure. Our first camp down in New Zealand was great. It was our first time back on snow for the summer training period and it is always nice to be down in New Zealand. It is an amazing country and the people are super nice. Then I was off to Sydney for a few days of rest and recovery. Surfing was in order, as well as checking out the zoo, downtown, and the many secret little harbors and beach’s. It was nice to just live out of my backpack and wonder around the amazing city after a tough month of “work” on the slopes in New Zealand. Then I went back to Banff in Alberta to train in the gym for a few days and pick up my car to drive back home to Lake Tahoe. From there I headed strait to Portillo, Chile for our second on snow camp of the summer. Portillo is an amazing ski area high in the Andes that provides the best summer Downhill training in the world! This yeah Portillo didn’t disappoint and we had an amazing camp. I came out of the camp feeling almost ready for the race season to begin! Following Portillo, I headed to Vail to get the screws taken out of my now healed hand, and then headed back to Quebec to visit my girlfriend and enjoy a little bit of east coast fall with all of its colors and things like apple picking! Super fun. Now I am back home, finally unpacking my bags and doing some laundry, yet again getting ready for the next trip wherever that will take me. Being a professional ski racer, my life is one big trip, constantly traveling to find the best snow to ski wherever that may be! I absolutely love it and hope that you enjoy some of these photos from the last month on the road. The new ski season is fast approaching and the rest of October is crunch time so to speak for getting strong, so its back to the gym for me for a while before the next ski camp out in Colorado!
Until next time…..
